Default Just bought a Furion 450 New thread to keep this great old bird alive

Hey guys, I have admired this model form afar for a while, and I just found a fair deal on a good looking used machine, so I bought it!

I have never had a Miniature aircraft before, so I wonder if some of you old hands might clear up some stuff...

Are the main gears really 25 buck for one?
The machine I got has a stock parts FBL conversion, what support parts should I get?

I am going to make this a active thread, hope to inspire some of the old hands back into posting about the Furion 450, and keep a running dialog going to find parts, and trouble shoot issues!

I did some searching, I could not find main shafts on either of the three sellers...

Heliproz
Amain
Miniature aircraft site?

Anyone know anywhere else to look?

I ended up finding a high speed shaft in stock in the UK, Midland, so I got their last one...

Ordered a small batch of parts from MA and HP...

Really enjoying the machine, heres a couple of videos of her flying!

sweet. I bought a set a couple years back...1 complete and 1bare as a replacement or a night rig if I make it that far. Just got the first out to get ready as a fall project. All I need is a ESC at this point and im going to give it a spin. I have a couple of the big MA birds and typical quality is everywhere on the 450 as well. How is the Yep 45 holding up for you?

The YEP is a good piece of kit! I have a couple, one on my X3, and the Furion. I have a couple of the 40A on other birds too!

I just received my main shaft from the UK, I sure hope they tool up and make some more? They are unique and not to tough looking...

I ran my Furion 450 with the Mikado FBL head. I think the best option for this heli. The ONLY reason I sold mine was some of the parts could not be purchased anymore. Now I see they are selling again. The tail hub was my biggest issue with no stock. The main gear price as well. I can buy a Main or Auto gear for my Logo 800 cheaper. I do think the Furion 450 is one of the BEST quality 450's on the market.

Yes the main gears are way over the top... but most everything else is reasonable. I had the hard time finding the main shafts, but found a great deal on the CF kit... like 60% off.

So are you planning to change your handle to "Furionwilly"?
I have to dust off my FB Furion 450 after seeing this thread, lol

LMAO... I guess it should be 450willy since I have 5, all different except two 450Pros

I just made a deal with a buddy to take 4 brand new 1300 NT bricks off his hands, he let me try some of his older and they fit, so I am looking forward to seeing how she does with 45C 6S packs!

Sure thing Vigor1, what would you like to see on my setup? I can shoot some stills, or a video if you like?

A closeup of your fbl head and electronics would be nice the next time you're filming at the field.

How do you like your Furion compared to all your other 450s? I have an unassembled one that I bought over 3 years ago. You think I should build it or get something like the Mini Protos or X3?

Thanks, Trexwilly

I have stopped counting 450 helis after 8. My wife thinks that all my helicopters in the basement are multiplying themselves

As vigor1 mentioned, I would also like to request a close up shot of the FBL head on your heli. I am thinking to modify my Furion 450 to FBL as I have a few spare heads. It will be one of my winter projects.

I had a Furion 450 with a Mikado FBL head and now have a Mini P. I got tired of parts supply issues and increased part cost and sold it.

Looks like you are enjoying the Furion, Trexwilly. :-)
I certainly never flew it that well. I'm glad it's found a good home.
