Default Tail Hold Problem

Crashed my 550e not too long ago and rebuilt it. I was hovering the other day and the tail would hold no problem in a hover. But when I gave it more collective pitch to climb the tail would turn pointing the nose left. When I give it less it would rotate back right. Is this due to not enough Gyro? Which I thought I tried before the battery ran out.

I used the whole battery to trim it out before I noticed.

Flying the 550e v2 with the 3gx.

thank you to anyone who can help.

Yes, I replaced everything with the same parts. Seems the harder I give collective, altitude, the tail turns as if over correcting for the main blades.

This is very similar to the behavior my DS620 exhibited before it died.

What's your head speed? What Tx are you using? What ESC? Are you in governor mode? These are missing vital information that would help us to determine what's going on.

powered down tail servo moves smoothly no notches tail rod and slider moves freely?
silly question but tail blades not on backwards also check servo and rod with link poped off the servo smooth movement a must have....

I am new to Helicopters. My settings are all by looking up what others have tried and used. The first hand full of flights the thing was rock solid. Had a very very small tail wag, but on my last flight right before I wrecked it, I got rid of it.

I did not change a thing on the transmitter. I am using a DX 8, the ESC came with the Heli. 550e V2 3GX. I am not using Governor at all.

How do I tell what Head speed the unit is set too?

I used some of my plane experience to set up the transmitter as well. I turned down the d/r rates so it was not so sensitive.
Throttle Curve was not really changed at all, only in stunt mode, which I am not using at all yet.
Pitch Curve, 22%,35,50,70,100
Swashplate is all set to +50
Gyro, set to AUX2, SW: Fmode, Normal: 25%(before crash) tried up to (45%)

That is about all.. I know the swash i picked is correct. Like I said, I have flown it a few times before without the problem I have now. I left the 3gx settings the way it came, all at 50% and just use the TX. maybe I should recalibrate the 3GX?

I wish I knew more about this thing.
We dont have a good Heli hobby store at all in my town.

thanks

Make sure you have no binding in your tail control rod. Slide it back and forth with power off and it should be very smooth from one end to another. If it is sticking at any point it will not let the tail compensate for pitch change fast enough causing a tail kick.

I already did that.. its smooth as can be.

The tail is not falling behind. Its ahead of the rotor by a sec. I hit collective, it rotates the tail about 1 full inch then stops, I lower collective same thing but reverse.

Its as if its making the tail rotor spin just a tad too much to compensate and only for a sec.

You could always try messing around with you gain. You could always put it back if it does nothing to help you.

I flew it the other day and its so minute that it did not effect its flying. I think I might of noticed it more due to me just trying to hover instead of actually flying.. But its a very very small tail reaction when adding collective. It seems ok to me.. thank you for all your guys help.
