Does the gyro have a label with a name or model number on it?

Have you watched any of the Finless Heli Skills and Setup 101 videos?

sounds like you need to reverse gyro direction

turn on the gyro and and allow it to initialise in heading hold mode and try this for me

put the heli in front of you so that the tail if facing you.

if you move the tail to the left the pitch slider should move to the right.

if you move the tail to the right the pitch slider should move to the left.

Im assuming you heli tail is doing the opposite of what I have mentioned and therfore you will need to reverse the gyro direction.

this is a good video on setting up a tail gyro

if you go to 4mins 20 sec of the video it talsk about tail direction. This will explain the right direction the tail should go when giving left and right stick input.

I can't help, sorry (just buying my first 450). But please be careful. Spooling it up in the house, right next to you, especially when some things may not be set up quite right (so it might do something unexpected) can be dangerous. The blades will definitely cut you if you let them, even the tail rotor can be dangerous.

The tail is easy to setup.

Gyro correction direction is as follows.
Power on the TX, power on the heli. Note the leading edge of the tail blades. With the boom facing you, grab the tail, move the tail to the right. The leading edge of the tail blades will point to the left. If they do not, reverse the gyro, in the gyro, not the TX.

Rudder stick on TX. When you push the rudder stick to the right, the leading edge of the tail blades will point left. the reason this is, is because you are "flying the nose" of the heli. Rudder stick right, nose right, tail left. If this is not the case, reverse the rudder channel on the TX.

If you have any other questions, PM me.

your radio look basic but can you go into the rudder channel on your radio and reverse the channel direction?

If so this will change the direction of the tail.

Not if it's spinning out of control on lift off. That will not fix that.

I had another look at your video and definately looks like you mounted the gyeo on its side and not sitting flat right side up

I cant believe i never picked up on this.

you need to lay the gyro flat right side up for it to work properly

Without knowing the brand, it's hard to say if that is right or not.
Some gyros, like some of the Exceed and Esky ones are meant to be mounted on their side like that.

What that video looks like is the gyro is in rate mode instead of HH. That is also what the red LED usually means, but again, without knowing the brand, that may not be the case.

Usually if the gyro is reversed it will piro much faster than that, but it is unknown if any correction was being given by the op at the time.

fair enough

I have not really heard of gyros that mount sideways

Its probably better he upgrades to something familiar to everyone

The tail blade is on backwards assuming a CCW spinning tail rotor.

Also, sorry about your main blades and boom strike.
