Default Quark is drifting and bouncing

Hi guys, I flew my 500 with the quark on it fine a few hours ago, then I charged the battery, turned the swash mix to -75 for aile and elev (before it was -70), and I turned the gain up to 63% (it was 60% before, I am using the dx6i) I fixed the helis tracking a bit more, so now its spot on, but I noticed that the tail slider, when the heli is on the ground was slowly but surely drifting tot he right, I spooled her up and it took its time before the gyro realised the heli was slowly drifting to the left and fixed it, I lifted it up, and it was wagging, so I dropped the gain back to 60%, the wagging went away, but th slidr was still drifting to the right! also, when I do piros, the tail will bounce back, is there a way to fix these 2 problems? or do I Need to wait for the firmware to come out?

Thanks alot guys.

Hi Incellusion,

i have the same problem as you when i give a sudden right rudder stick it bounce but when i give a left stick it is normal, my Gain is 62%

Last night i installed a carbon fiber tail blade and it helps a little, but i think that the Quark can be tweaked to be SUPER by the Flash link, now i feel as if it is a very normal gyro

Kefou did you make sure to add roughly 8 degrees of tail pitch for the tail servo center ? Having a bounce on one side and not the other is a sign its not symmetrical.

The Quark cannot be programmed by the FLASH USB link without the SLX adapter, it has not yet come out, but will soon.

HS = Head speed. Many so called gyro problems are actually HS related.

I have not discovered the bounce back issue, but I fixed the drifting issue. Rookie mistake lol, I must have plugged in the lipo when the heli was on a bad angle or something, but when I plugged it in again, it armed succesfully.

Kefou i suggest learning to fly in idle up, the tail cannot perform its best when the HS is constantly changing.

i am already flyin in idle-up some times, and i have tested it in idle up with the same problem.. do you think this problem can't be solved without the Flash link?? or i can fix it mechanically??

These aren't idle up curves.

I don't believe its a gyro problem. Your HS is alittle low or at the very least inconsistent. You can prolly mask the problem by adjusting the parameters of the Quark (when the SLX comes out) but i would prefer to solve the actual problem.

if you have vibrations that will be your problem. gyros do not like vibration.

electric helis should have very little if any vibes. if it's vibrating bad enough to move that as your describing then you have an issue there you need to address.

vibration causes drift and also effects how well the gyro stops because it is buzzing.

fix that and see how good/bad the tail is then would be the best advice i think.

cheers

The curves that posted was for Normal mode, the idle up are

T: 100-92.5-85-92.5-100
P: 0-25-50-72-100

I don't have bad vibration, but if this will be the problem, i can install the metal plate beside the foam. what do you think?

A smal info that may help, the bouncing problem were not exsit before my last little crash, i have crashed a little crash that need to replace the main shaft, feather shaft and one servo and the flybar.. and before this crash my tail was rock solid and the gain was 65%.. so the recent bouncing problem is after this crash... also i have changed every thing for testing (Tail boom, tail shaft, tail blades, tail slider, main blades, main gear, tail gear) with no difference.

Can it be the gyro itself??
