Default GPS Compass mounting

I want to mount my Naza Compass on the top plate right in the center. Think that will be ok? I know some of you guys have mounted them to an arm , how far out? On top of the ESC? Just dont want too much noise

Thanks

You are right in thinking to keep noise at a minimum.
iwould never mount iy on top, or near An esc. Anything with high voltage, esc, vu, or distribution is going to generate a lot of noise.
Fortunately, DJI gps is one of the best I have tested, ( only 3 tested ). I seems to work pretty well when necessity dictates placing it close to something it shouldn't be next to.

Give it a test, see how well it works there. If it doesn't get a good lock, or doesn't get all the sat
s, move it out to an arm.

Mine is mounted on the arm at the main frame so I can still get the the screws. My battery is in the center at least until the new parts show up.

Mine is mounted smack dab in the middle of the top plate without the shaft.

2 inches away from it I have the Skylark antenna.

Both lock in and stay in but then my esc's are down below in the bottom plate.

On my DJI, I mount the GPS on one of the side tabs. Sometimes I like to fly with dual lipos. Mounting the GPS on a side tab allows me to strap one lipo on the top deck and the other under the belly.
