However, I just saw this at Spektrum's site.

Given that most of us have gone fbl, 2 bundled satellites would be worth much more than 1 receiver.

Not likely, that is one of the major differences between it and the DX8.

Default FBL = 7 or 8

been flying nitro for awhile and getting ready to move into electrics. Probably with a 500 FBL ( brand to be dcided). I had pre-planned the new 7s version but is there a reason that I should go with the 8? Can someone hit these details before I order the wrong one
Tnx

Dx8 backlit display and 3 flight modes is the winner for me. Plus the price difference isn't that much at all

Considering whether it has a receiver, the price difference between the 7s and 8 could be $100. The 7s ETA of Jan 2012 prompted me to get the 8.

I just got the dx7s for Christmas... The hobby shop gave the wife 15% off... She paid like 255.00 plus tax 0 shipping... The receiver is going for 129.00 now. So, the dx7s was basically 126.00 plus the tax? If I got the math right. Ok, if I figured I can buy the receiver for 109.50... That still only make the Tx 145.50.

Anyways... I think I'll be happy with the dx7s for quite a while.

Choice is what makes us all different.. Or course economic status often dictates our choices as well.

Main thing, have fun doing what we do...

I have been thinking for a while between the DX8 and DX7s. My local hobby shop offered $20 off from the $199 for the DX7s, I jumped at it.

Since I fly airplanes also, I can move this one for the airplanes and the micro heli, then get the DX8 or even jr as I get to know the new Tx software. The key thing for me to upgrade to DX7s/8 was that it supported SD memory!

Still wonder if I should of just gotten the 8, but 7s is certainly as nice Tx with modern day "bling" that my old Tx did not have.

For the majority of us FBL fliers the extra receiver doesn't do much good as before. If you're still doing flybar then its a good deal, but too bad spektrum doesn't make a package with a 2 satellites instead. Better yet a transmitter plus the new beastx controller/receiver combo would be sweet.
