It may be an unethical using the software without acknowledging Steffen, but he did release the source under GPL3. It's open-source, it's being used the way the license allows as far as I know. It's not "stolen", and they have no obligation to compensate him for it.
Unless Oversky are making changes to the code and not publishing those changes, they have no obligation to do anything else.

claim. Yes, you are right that GPL v3 make no obligation for overskey to compensate sskaug for. You are wrong that "it's being used the way the license allows." Why? Because they deny using sskaug's code and deny using a GPL license software which in fact they did. Let's see what the license said in term 4 and term 6. I high light the part that Overysky violate. In fact, Oversky denying the fact that they are using GPL software which will resulting Oversky has no right to use BLHeli code at all, source code form or object code form does not matter. Quote:

Ah....there's the distinction. Thanks, I didn't know that was a requirement.

Guys.
I have just approached Oversky on their lacking information about their ESC using BLHeli. And received a very prompt and good response, so we are in the process of getting in place proper links for information and acknowledgements of BLHeli. Hopefully everything will be in shining order shortly Edit: Now everything relating to Oversky is to our (myself and 4712's) satisfaction. We have a good dialog, and the "Oversky 10A V3" ESC will be added as a dedicated ESC. Thanks, Steffen |

That is great news
![]() I was wondering why Oversky don't want to acknolage GPL. It does not make sense at all. Glad that this is all resolved.

Anyone try one of these yet? Hoping it can replace my xp12a for my HP06 and HP08. Just do not want to take a hit on power.
