Default KDE Motors - Worthwhile?

Looking to add a bit more pep to my Logo running 553 Edge FBLs on 6S.

Anyone tried the KDE 600XF-1175?

On paper it looks like a good fit and a monster performer, but I'd be interested in a user view. KDE stuff looks good quality, so am hopeful, but it is a pricey motor.

Currently I have a Scorpion 4025-1100 in there.

Thanks

Mark

I thought about the KDE motor on my TREX 550 but decided to go 12S instead ... more power and much easier on the batteries long term as the higher voltage system is more efficient. I also just upgraded an old TREX 600e with a scorpion 4035-530 and the mod 1 gears and it rocks! I know I didn't answer your question just thought you might want to consider the HV option.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. My own experience with 12S says you are right. I'm reluctant at present to go back down that road as I have the heli in the workshop, pretty much ready to go in 6S format. I have an almost brand new Scorpion 4035-500 on the shelf that I could slot in, but I have a bunch of 5000MAH 6S packs that would weigh a fair bit hanging under 620mm blades if I went 12S.

It wouldn't take much though to go that route - pinion, boom, belt, pushrod and blades should be it.

Yep the same 6S packs I use in my Trex600 I use (2) of in my Rave 90 ENV

The KDE motor in my ENV has been rock solid so far. I went with a 14T pinion on my KDE700XF-495 maybe could have gone 13T. I am still on the fence about it. But the motor is great! I have a buddy running the same helicopter same batteries and his Scorpion LE runs a lot hotter (to the touch) and it looks about the same in the air performance wise.

Well I am more of a sports/3D running a 2000 head speed and 5 mins is not a problem.

Next time out I am going to be switching packs around. Still pretty new to me.

I haven't used any of the newer, CC/KDE's, but I have 2 of the KDE/NEU's, and they are fantastic motors.
