Default Nite rig 101

Hey folks a few days ago a did a video on setting up a 450 class night rig.
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=68635

It also includes a review / setup video of the new MS Composit TAG night blades.

Enjoy,
Bob

Bob,
could I just change the connector on the cold link driver and allow it to plug into a receiver channel?

If not, where did you get the small 200mah lipos?

Thanks in advance

Hobby Town USA has 700/800 mAmp 2cell lipos for the Blade CX, about $22.00.

No the voltage at the RX is like 5 to 6V depending on your BEC/ESC. While that will work it will probably make your strings a lot dimmer than the 8.4V from a 2S lipo.

In my opinion for a 450 heli anything over 350ma pack is too heavy. If you can find one try tapping off the balance plug of your 3S pack to 2 of the cells. Trust me the power draw is so low I doubt seriously it will throw your pack out of balance at the end of the flight!

You know the led lights of the past have bothered me. Can you post a pic of the light from directly in front. The old style of the led shining on the glow in the dark blade I found were distracting.

Some people have complained about some other kits have so much light that it is almost blinding at times.
We spread the light out and use the light more effectively!
Pm me, if anyone is needing more pictures from different views!

In Bob's video, he shows a 400mah pack that he says lasts for hours....why do I need a 2000 or even a 1200mah pack?

I bought a night flying kit at the Ontario, Ca. show last year, and i'm a bit concerned about some of the post saying there's been problems with them. I'm new to night flying and watched Bob's video's on set ups and such, and i'm wondering with the Align 325 Carbon blades if I need to secure the pins you plug into them, one seems pretty tight the other no so. Also looks like I bought a Dan Apex 2S 7.4 Volt 900 mah battery, is this going to be to heavy?. I know at the purchase time I had no clue so I relied on the person at the Align booth to set me up, hope i'm alright. Also wondered if anyone knows if I can purchase the fins that reflect or show the light as i've seen on other post. Wish I had the knowledge to run them off my main battery, I don't want to start soldering connectors on a lipo as i've never done this before. Sorry for so many questions any suggestions would help big time.
