Any updates on this matter? I just got some stuff to buff up my x5's tail authority, and it would really suck if this gear let go...

I've had nothing but great luck with Gaui's, just sayin. I built an X4-II about a year ago, havent had any trouble in around 60 flights or so. Basic preflights, check for screw tightness, and fly. Havent had trouble with the mentioned gears in this bird or my two X5. Bad lot of gears maybe?

The original gear never gave any trouble I even reused it after the first gear replacement gear let go. I would have even put it back on had I not tossed it because I was accumulating to many used parts. After a crash I replace all the shafts and bearings along with any damaged parts. Maybe overkill but the time it takes to hunt down vibrations and if a bad bearing causes one crash then $30 to $40 to replace them all just cost a lot more set of mains is just as expensive.

The closest shop is 1 1/2 hours away and they do not stock Gaui parts so when I order I stock up on crash items. I purchased the gears together so I think it was just a bad batch maybe the wrong epoxy I also replaced the bearing blocks in case there was some damage there causing an issue.

Been up 3 times since the repairs would be more if not for work and weather but there are no issues yet. I flew this thing through some very hard crashes with no issues so I would not let this stop me and I love the Gaui's and would buy an x4II again without any hesitation.

It was frustrating and I was looking for answers not so much to blame Gaui but to find out what I needed to correct since this Heli flew perfect before.
