Default Normal throttle mode

Is the normal throttle one speed? When it spools up it reaches full speed,no variable speed, full or off .
My other helis have variable throttle in normal mode.
Must be designed to fly in ui1 or2.

You have 3 throttle curves, 30% normal mode, 70 or 75%? idle 1 and 100% idle 2.
You should hear the RPM changing
Unless you have different throttle curve, but should be flat 30%,70% and 100%

Yes, normal is the lowest of the three governed headspeeds and it is a single rpm just like the other two. If you put the zero in the first position like the manual says to do, be careful in flight as you can mistakenly drop the collective to the bottom which will kill the throttle, and it will fall from the sky.

I just set the Normal curve all to 30% and use the throttle cut feature to shut the thing off and turn it on. This precludes it from dropping out of the sky because of hitting zero. Too many other things are out there to cause a crash to have one programmed into the normal throttle curve.

Yup totally normal cause the norm thro curve is 0-25-25-25-25 or 0-30-30-30-30 per manual depending on your tx for the 180 so it's basically a flat curve.

I also ditched the 0 at the beginning and run a true flat curve after having it puke midflip a few times from forgetting to flip into IU.

As said perfectly normal and the way this heli works. The ESC in it only has three speeds and with some Tx's only two. Setting the Tx as per the book with 0-25-25-25-25 you get nothing until you move the stick to above the 25% mark then the heli will begin to spool up slowly to the minimum head speed (not sure what that is but enough to fly). Once you take off and hit the stunt mode the head speed will increase to maximum if you programmed a flat 100% throttle curve on the Tx.
