Question headspeed questions

Hey everyone I'm running a scorpion 4025-890kv with a 20 tooth pinion ,also have the hobbywing platinum 100a v3 and I plan on useing the vbar gov . What's my lowest headspeed option ,without risking ruining my belt ? Also would I need a different motor to fluxuate my headspeeds more? This is my first gov setup all help is appreciated.

Could drop to a 5 cell and that would put you around 2450. I run a 4 cell 5800mah when I want to get real low. A 4 cell would put you around 1950.... HAV

Lets turn the question back - what head speeds are you trying to get? 20t pinion on 890 kV motor sound like you are targeting for very high head speeds if going with 6s. You may want to consider 17-18t pinion.

But won't a smaller size pinion chew my belts up with this motor?

you should not have a problem, I am running the 4025 on my second hd cell with a 17t pinion and its perfect, no slipping at all and I do run high and low headspeeds

Have to agree with Neal - running a few machines with 2KW motors and 17t is fine.
Knowing Neal - he is pushing his helis really hard. So if his belt holds up than it should be fine.
