Has anybody tried a different main gear for the dragonus, I'm sick of this one always being on back-order
If anybody has some good ideas, please share. thanks...

Yes, it sits in the same spot on the mainshaft with either one way/gear combo. It will fit fine. Also, I think you'll find the Trex gear is quieter.

Go to ronlund.com and use the parts locator for a Trex 450 SE v2 main gear. That is the one I use.

I've seen the white ones and blue ones and the white ones work perfect for me. Now if I can hurry up and get my ESC back so I can go tear it up!!!

Finally got to fly this awsome machine after about a 2 month rebuild. I forgot how SMOOTH this bad ass chopper is!!! After my second pack it started to make a crazy noise coming from the main gear. Well the stock main gear has a spot where the pinionshaved some teeth off and the pinion weren't in contact with the gear. This is the second time it's happened with the stock gear. IMO the stock plastic seems a little softer than theTrex gear so I think I'm gonna have to re-up on some Trex main gear!

So in fact the T-rex main gear is stronger, right?

I have a t-rex main gear that has had 3 crashes on it and I just hit throttle hold as it went in and it has survived with no damage. I still have it. The trex has 4 holes though and not three like the dragonus. I have afurion 450 pulley that I might try to fit to the dragonus and see if that will work. I know the trex gear works on it because that is what I replaced the gear with. Not sure if the furion pulley is the correct diameter or not. It is all cnc so that should be good. I will let you know when I try it out. Might be a while as I am about to ship out to Haiti it looks like. This sucks!

First of all good luck in Haiti, man it looks sh!ty over there! I run the Trex main gear also. Need to stock up on some more main gears. The one I'm running right now has a spot where about 4 teeth are ever so slightly worn. I still think the Trex gears are the way to go. I

Well, I got lucky on the trip to Haiti and now I am back at the house and have the dragonus built. Can't wait to fly it.
