I've read it's got lots of great features... speed, resolution, full bearings, SD card, throttle-timer start, ...

What I want to know is: "Does it balance on the strap without a funky adapter?"

If so, take my money now and send me one.

Yes it will, same design as dx6i.

Although not as attractive as the DX7 the DX6i has a better balance feel in your hands IMO. DX8 is taking a lot of beating due to its looks. I am looking forward to this radio, which I hear is coming late spring. Personally I would prefer feel over looks but everyone is into everything being sexy these days.

Generally, I look at the heli, not the Tx. I'm told the DX6i had some flimsy points; if the DX8 is a solid device, I can't see considering looks in the equation.
