Hello everyone

It looks like we are going to have another large group of pilots at this year's SRC. I would like to take the time to encourage some to consider expanding the flight line to further down the field toward the west end, where there is plenty of open space for flying.

The preregistering will stay open to the week prior to the event, but with enough time to prepare name tags and packets for the pilots. Remember with your preregister you get a chance to win some select prizes as well as additional tickets for the main raffle give ways and a ticket to the Saturday evening cookout as well.

I have a few surprises yet to be reveal so look forward to more upcoming information posted between now and the event.

I Also believe Weldon has some great t shirts on a first come first serve basis too. Want to keep all my helifreak friends up to date as well. I am also on facebook now so you can keep in touch with me there too.

I may decide to set up my shelter toward the west end. It gets a bit crowded on the east side, especially with the softball diamonds there.

There will be plenty of room on the west end Alan.
Hey Guys the SRC is just 3 weeks from this coming weekend. Checked out the field today and it has some nice tall green grass on it, we will cut it some but not to short so the field want be too dry.

Also there is only one tree for Wilson to fly around now, the rest have been cut down. Sorry Wilson, no trees in the distant to fly around but one, but still looking forward to seeing what kind of act you might have.

So there will again be plenty of room for guys to fly on the far west end of the field, so let's see how long we can stretch the flight line out.

A little more then 3 weeks and counting

We may not be the biggest event in the USA outside of Ircha, but after 25 years of hosting the event we are definitely one of the best funfly events you can go to.

Hi Guys i was just checking out some links to some of the exciting flying last year at the 2011 SRC nightfly. Looking forward to more exciting flying at this years event as well.

Here are the links to the really great night flying from year.
If you haven't made your plans to stay Saturday night you are going to miss a great time. We going to have our cookout, a guitar contest, some great traditional night flying and some flying under the lights as well

Bring your air horns to encourage the guys to get LOWER!

Curtis Youngblood

Kyle Dahl

Ben Storick

Wilson Miller

Mitch Pricer

Try loading up all the videos at one time and watching them with the horns and yelling it is cool.

Not sure if you can loads the videos up on helifreak like you can on RR, but if you are they are some great vids?

I wouldn't put those DFW guys in the same league with the pros. Well, maybe a couple of them.

I am proud to be a small part (well smaller than last year??) of the DFW MIniture gang and I also proudly accept the title of Bottom Pilot (as opposed to Top Pilot)!
As for the others, most were invited to fly daily demos during the Miniture Aircraft flight demo hour at IRCHA (The worlds largest all Heli event)!
I personally witnessed all their flights as well as those of many of the more well known "Top Pilots" through out the event and I can speak with authority when I say other than me and a dog with no opposable thumbs, these guys belong!
Alan I'm sure if you take Any time to watch the flights of Rusty, Robert, and some orhers, you will agree with me. But if you don't agree that's fine too because we all are allowed our own opinion.
Let's be sure and have some real Texas fun while we are there.
I'm charged up already.

You missed the winky smiley, Doug. I was kidding. I probably have as much of an outside perspective as any heliphile living in the area, since I don't see them very often, so the improvements appear pretty dramatic to me, probably more so than to you. I've also gotten lots of help from a couple of guys over there, so I respect them.

The misunderstanding is understandable. Many of my posts have had a somewhat dark tone to them lately, mostly reflecting my general mood these days.

Hi Guys, Friday is open flying but there will be contest going throughout Saturday including the non sponsored demo contest right after lunch, follow by pro demos.

Beginners and intermediate contest Saturday morning, MCPX and auto contest Saturday afternoon, guitar contest and nightflying Saturday night with a cookout also scheduled for Saturday night. And of course, plenty of open flying all day Friday and Saturday and flying under the lights both nights as well as traditional night flying as well.

Also if you have a telescope bring it out because Friday night some of us are going to check out the starts.

There will be a much more detail schedule listed just prior to the event on both RR and helifreak.

Registration is 25 dollars either preregister or at the event.

Advantage to preregistering: The preregistered guys get more tickets to the raffle then those that don't and the preregistered guys also get a chance at some nice raffle items given away at the pilots meeting Saturday that those that have not preregister will not get.

Look forward to seeing everyone, we plan on having a great time

You preregister at southernrotaryclassic.com

Default Rave Ballistic 635 being debuted by Curtis Youngblood at 2012 SRC

Rave Ballistic 635 Debuting at the 2012 SRC
Exciting news everyone, Curtis has confirm for sure he is coming to the SRC again this year.

He is also bring the new Rave Ballistic 635 with him and will be debuting it during our noon demos this year, so you will be able to get your first look at the new 635.

In addition to that, we will be raffling away the new 635 at our event. It will not be given out at the event but will be release at the end of the year and someone will be fortunate enough to get the first one release by winning it in a raffle at 2012 SRC event.

It will be shipped to that fortunate person who wins it in the raffle given away at Saturday evening after the rewards banquet.

Ok, guys now if you are not excited by now something is wrong with you

More exciting news coming up later.

Hi Guys, one more weekend and then all the fun starts. Preregistration at southernrotaryclassic.com will only last for a few more days. I am not sure when it will end myself but the registration guys will cut it off soon (probably not before the end of this weekend but definitely sometime very early next week)

They have to have enough time to enter everyone's names into the system and make badge cards for everyone as well as raffle tickets and a meal document for the Saturday night cookout, which is reserved for registration pilots only, anyone else that would like to eat we would appreciate a donation and adding your name to the list in advance so hopefully enough food can be provided for everyone. It is on a first come first serve basis.

Again those that have preregistered will have and opportunity for certain prizes reserved only for them.

The rest of the general prizes including the new Rave 635 will be given out in a general drawing later on Saturday. You will be allowed to donate (purchase) other raffle tickets if you like and you do not have to be there to win for the largest prizes which will include at least two helicopters one to be the 635 We will have the drawing early Saturday evening so hopefully everyone will be staying for the night fly activities. Now if none of this make sense just PM me and I will give you a personal explanation

Now please remember, even if you have preregistered you still have to come by the Registration Desk to get your badge cards first thing, as well as your raffle tickets, so please remember to do that.

Will be posting an event schedule in the next few days.

Also please remember that no RV's will be allow next to the flight line area parked parallel to the flight line or sticking out past everyone else' tented area. There will be a roped off area, please do not tent in this area it has been reserved.

Guys when you get to the event please don't come up to us and ask for an exception to the rules, we want everyone to have fun be safe and have a chance to see.

Also remember to bring you a chair for the noon demos as well as the night fly activities. If you would just enjoy watching.

thanks,
Terry
