Default Dial Indicate YS

Was the engine build easy to get aligned. Did you dial indicate the fan?

Hi,

I dial indicated the hub and clutch. Engine was super easy to install. Actually, there is not really any adjustments on the engine. You just have to make sure the clutch housing is spot on before you tighten it...

G

Default Thanks Mine is on hold until Monday

I got 10% off on my entire order from Heli Direct. But the order is really big so he must have had some room. I can't wait!!

So what you are saying is adjust the Hub with the screws to get a good run out! How many times did it take you on the adjustment to get it spot on?

You need to dial indicate the hub and clutch. After you get that done, and once you're ready to install the engine to the frame, you get to adjust the red clutch housing... actually the manual explains it very well. Super easy...

The hard part was dial indicating.. A good friend of mine did it for me...

Regards,
G

Updates:

The helis is almost RTF. I'm doing the finishing touches on it... I had problems mounting the Hatori SB19 to my YS.91. The cooling fan shroud was in the way, so I had to cut 2 half circles off the shroud to allow the muffler to fit...

Here is how it was done:

Also, I'm not happy with the CF pushrod that I made, and I will make another one tonight... Then set the throttle linkage and cut the fuel tubes to size, and it's RTF

Regards,
G

Very cool G ... Just waiting on final pieces myself . Went for the 8717HV's which changed a few components . My friend got his up yesterday and on the second tank the heli was tested big time . Align team pilot Frank Columbia put it through its paces throwing everything at . He performed every hardcore move and the heli responded with perfection . So much for the " it wont 3D posts " cause this machine rocks . He was extremely impressed . JR definately made a winner here .

I would be hesitant to mention that online, just in case the Align people sneak around...

But seriously, I'm excited and cant wait to get it flying...

Thanks for your compliments,

Yeah I'm sure. I have a few of his videos and I like his style. I just wasn't sure if factory pilots can fly other brands of helis... thats what I was trying to say.

Regards,
G

Oh... well good for you! I did notice that Spartan bundle hiding there under the tail servo.

If you didn't shorten... you hid it well. Great job!
