Note to self, leave the anti spark plugged in or it will arch to the frame and cause issues.
Tail still doesnt hold as well as I would like in a punch out but it will do backwards flight now.
Im going to keep trying to dial it in and see what happens.

So what happened?

Did you get to fly it, or did the anti-spark issue cause a major problem?

Inquiring minds want to know!
(and so does mine!)

I got a flight in, just circuits trying to feel it out. The tail still wants to go in a punch out though. I was told by some VBar guys at the field that its a pre-comp issue which express does not have. I increased the mechanical pre-comp (if you want to call it that) by increasing the pitch against torque at center stick and it did seem to help some.

Dan,

I would increase the gain until it starts to wag, then back it off a point at a time, just until it does not wag, then try punching the collective.

Pre-Comp will help with the issue you are describing, but the tail should hold without it. I usually use long Rainbows to set precomp, and it is always a small amount and a fine tuning type of thing, if that helps.

Thats the plan but once it gets over a hundred with no wag it starts to worry me.

If it gets over 100 with no wag, I would wonder if the servo arm is a bit too short.

Also, what RPM are you running? I was talking to Klaus a week or two ago, and one thing he commented on was the trend towards running lower and lower RPM on the head. The tails on many helicopters, are not necessarily geared for this, so very low RPM can cause tail performance to suffer.

I made an error on my video, by the way, my RPM was tached at 2050, not 2150, so you should be able to have a very solid tail at that RPM and a bit below.

How much pitch are you running?

V-Bar file sent, by the way.

If you have blow outs on hard backwards flight, try 110 CY blades, cannot get the tail to blow out with them, 104's, I do.
I also have a little kick on hard punch outs , but I can live with that. Vbar pre comp should take care of that. I always had same prob with beast x until V3 when they introduced pre comp. IMO, without a pre comp parameter, you need to reduce pitch to prevent kick out...

Over 100? I've got my TX gain down to 36.
