Since I also saw the post on Facebook, I assume it was with the "trainer" pictured, that means it was with the 3 blade head.
And you beat me to it maizor, I was just about to post this....

I'm sure there will eventually be video of the retractable landing gear followed by a lot of ooooooo'ing and aaaaahhhhh'ing. Question: How many of you would want/trust retractable landing gear on a heli?

The 3D heli will have standard gear and is what I would likely go for.
Its the potting Speed cup the event it is at so I believe it is recorded with timing but may be wrong?

Understood, but no one is posting pics of the TDS though, just this TDR, so I was curious. Sounds like he lost the tail on it also.

I'm very curious how well it is balanced and how it flies when it isn't in a speed run.

Wait, so he hit 315kmh with a TDR? LOL, yeah, I understand. I've been trying to translate on the Henseleit Helicopters FB page and gather what I can.

Apparently 3 blades makes real a difference! Soooo.... if a modified TDR in a Velocity full fuse can do 315kmh, I wonder what the expectations are for the TDS when it competes at the German Speed Cup in September???

That's an excellent question. I can't imagine what it may actually be able to pull. Like you've stated before, it's limits may only be the currently available powertrains.

The picture is of the TDRll in speed trainer guise, the "basic" TDRll will have fixed landing gear and a different canopy.
It seems that 315 km/h was set by a TDV with the 3-blade head, flown by Robert Sixxt : http://www.rc-heli.de/board/showthread.php?t=240793

I understood that there were power limitations keeping 3 blades from being competitive. OBVIOUSLY NOT! They've most likely bought themselves a bit more room before the advancing blades go supersonic with a slightly lower headspeed pushing 3 blades.

I'm curious also. Pyro 850? Or is that too big for a TDR? I was under the same assumption and curious about the blades, also. I would think that there will probably have to be some advancements in that area as well. So how long before we have a 4-blade Speed machine? lol

3 blades let them drop the headspeed giving them more room before the advancing tip goes supersonic, BUT it puts the retreating blade in more danger of a blade stall. My guess is that we will never see a 4 blade speed machine. The next logical step would be counter rotating blades so we don't have to worry about the blade stall on the retreating side, but would have more blades delivering thrust. Of course this would require even more power, weight and complexity.
