Default series or parallel?

newbie question I have a blade 400 and i am going to purchase a trex esp 500 soon........ I would like to use the battery's I have ( 3cell 11.1v 1800mah) Do i use a series connector or a parallel connector .

Series, to get 6s, but 1800mAh will give you relatively short flights. I am guessing you have the E-flite packs that came with the Blade 400? With "noob" flying I would expect you to get no more than 4-5 minutes flying. 5 would really be pushing it.

I have some 2200mah would that be better?

That depends. You can charge them either way, if your charger can handle 6S

I am just hovering and some back and forth stuff working on FF 5 min is just fine for me LOL

As all the other answers tells you, if you are using a two 3cells batteries with 1800 mAh.

Seriel: Twice the numer of cells (2 x 3 cells = 6 cells battery, same mAh)

Parallel: Twice the amp/hour (2 x 1800 mAh = 3600 mAh, still 3 cells battery)
