Default Best lubricant?

I'm a commercial pilot, machinist, and life-long gun smith. IMHO, the best machine and firearms lubricant on the market is BreakFree. It's an absolutely non-gumming medium weight oil - comparable to an SAE 70 gear oil - intended for both metal and plastic/polymer parts. A miniscule drop from a toothpick applied anywhere in a firearm makes the affected surfaces slide with astonishing smoothness. It bonds to metal, stays in place from one season to the next and does not attract dirt. After many years of experience with this lubricant, I've been using it for swash plates, rotor hinges, and other places where an oil of this viscosity is appropriate. It works great and stays put. You can get it from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Break-Free-Cle...break+free+clp or anywhere firearms are sold.

I'm lol'ing from the last post as I stayed quiet about using breakfree myself. I've never told anyone!

Manufacturer recommended grease on the greasy parts and Hoppe's gun oil on the moving parts .Do not remember where I read it, but Hoppe's #9 is the same stuff that used to ship with JR kits. I know it smells the same. And it seems to work well.

On the bearings I use triflow mixed with mpro7 on the gears the best stuff ever is dryfluids.

This is an old thread. We are in 2019, what lubricant do most people use nowaday? There is DryFluid Extreme For Heli which is specifically made for RC helicopter but a bit pricey. I wonder if WD-40 Dry Lube PTFE, which I have, will also do the job for lubricating main shaft, swashplate, bearings etc.

It is a bit pricey, but there is nothing like DryFluid.

After using it for many years I have no doubts it delivers excellent long-term lubrication results as promised by the manufacturer.

Has anyone tried both RC Car and RC Heli DryFluid?

RC Car Dry Fluid version is 1/2 the cost of the heli version. Is it truly a different formula or just a re packaging catering to the OCD nature of aviators?
Also, plastics are mysterious materials. Has anyone experienced gummed up gears from use of DryFluid (or BreakFree). Do note that ALL lubricants (for that matter ALL plastics as well) physical properties change with time, use and temperature.

Heli manufacturers are generally "mum" on how to manage plastic gear lubrication.

There is plenty like DryFluid. For instance, Tri Flow Dry Lube, which is the exact same stuff for $7 for 60mL vs $18 for 10mL.

I agree, it fixed a dry bearing in my fusion 360 motor. The stuff worked magic on the entire bearing sets for all of my fleet. I bought it directly from the manufacturer in Germany. The first pilot I met at Winter Bash has been using it for years. Just a drop let dry for a minute or two and the noise and vibration is noticeably less. I will also buy the grease next order for torque tubes, main gears, really makes the rubbing noise almost gone.
