Default Gens Ace Tx Lipo Went Out Mid-Flight!

Anyone on hobbypartz here? I ordered the gens ace Lipo for my DX7s on May 13th (order # 2049855), charged it once, and it's been great.....until today. The transmitter shut off without warning, and the heli dropped out of the sky! I thought the Tx went out, but after installing the original nickel battery, it's fine. I put the gens ace on my lipo checker, and it doesn't even know a battery is plugged into it. The discharge lead has zero voltage also. What the heck!

Good thing it was my 130x and not my 550!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a connector has failed, check the solder joints.

Neither connector in the battery has voltage, so it's internal in the battery casing.

Hello

I never used a DX7 before but from what I can find online the DX7 should have a low voltage alarm, what voltage did you set the alarm to(if your radio even has the option)? The battery that you ordered is a lipo so you should be setting the alarm to go one at around 6v - 6.4v.

I can send you a RMA to have the battery returned for inspection. After the battery has been inspected would you like to have the battery exchanged or refunded?

Definitely need an rma. My tx has a low voltage alarm that goes off around 6.6 volts, and the voltage was over 7 volts at the time it went out. It doesn't even register on the lipo checker or my Hyperion charger. It's like there's no battery plugged in when I plug it in. Almost like a wire came loose internally on the battery or something.

I don't think I could trust another one. I'd be risking a lot. Maybe a refund would be better.

Hello

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I just made the request for the RMA you should be receiving it within the hour. When the battery is returned I'll have the refunded processed and the battery sent back for inspection.

That's ok, I've been out of town for a couple of days. After sitting, the battery now reads 6.9volts. Before I left out of town, it wouldn't even show any voltage at all, and my charger didn't sense the battery plugged in. I guess it's intermittent. Very strange!

I put it on my charger, and it's charging now.

What should I do? If I send it in, it might show fine upon inspection, but I can't trust it.

I have made a note of it in your order for the returns department to give me the battery when it comes in so I'll be doing the testing on the pack.
