Default Another paint job

I thought I'd post a couple of photos of my new canopy. Painted with Tamiya acrilycs and automotive clear coat. It's not finished yet, the laquer still needs flatting and polishing. All coments and criticisms are welcome.

All i need to do now is replace the CSpec with the lovely YS91 SR3C and hatori pipe I have waiting for me, and get rid of that damned flybar. I think it would look really nice then.

Craig.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I seem to get some sort of pleasure out of these things driving me mad while painting them. I think there must be something wrong with me.

Very nice.

When I paint, it's just embarrassing.

Looka like a pro job

I'm painting one right now.

You said you used tamiya paints , then an auto clear ? Looks like they don't attch each other.

I have some touchup bottles of acutal paint (sherwin williams painting system). When i'm done i'm going to leave it with him to clear when he's shooting a car.

Do you hae any model #'s for the tamiya paints ? If there compatible , then i might get a better color selcection there.

Hi Martin,

I just use the regular small Tamiya acrylic paint jars. Flat yellow XF-3, although the yellow used on the one above was lemon yellow. Any of the X or XF jars have always worked fine for me. The clear coat is standard two part automotive. The bottles of paint you have should work well as they have been designed to be clear coated anyway. The only trouble I had one time was I used some rattle can paints and the clear coat reacted with them, leaving a horrid wrinkled appearance.

If you need more info, please just ask.

Craig.
