Default B400 Belt Tension

I recently received a B400 3D from a friend of mine. He crashed it and the tail boom was bent. I replaced the tail boom from another model 400 that he had. The belt tension was loose on the tail gear. Is it advisable to tighten the belt by extending the boom out the from the body a bit. I did so and it looks alright. It didn't take much. Just wondering if this is a common method.

By the way I'm new at this!

Not only common, but the only way. Good on ya, hope you enjoy this little old heli - it's got so many of us flying, and addicted to flying.
