My hobbywing 40 amp ESC was damaged in a crash. If it could be repaired I probably still wouldn't use it, but I am curious if it could be repaired as it looks like the only damage is to one of the capacitors and some impact damage to the heat sink.

What do you guys think?

I had an Align ESC that the capacitor broke off. I got the same size and resistance at radioshack and soldered the puppy right back together. Cheaper to try than than to buy a new ESC. My only worry and I'm not very knowledgable in this area is did it cause a short and messed up other parts of the ESC. Either case, I wouldnt hesitate to solder it together.

I soldered new caps on my YGE 60A. As long as you you the same rated caps and there is no other damage to the ESC board you should be fine.
