Been away for a while. Had a big crash with my 90se just finished the rebuild. Me and my girlfriend had a trip to the 3D masters and it was so nice to see all the raptors competing tom Erik, Alon barrack. My girlfriend vent mad in the Fast lad booth and bought alot of bling for my se i Will post pictures I have gone back to flybar because i struggeled with some vibrations. Have now changed out every rotating part and will do some test flight before going vbar or beastx again. This is just an update and greetings to all raptor friends from norway. I'm in Buffalo, NY and this summer has been an awesum one for flying. There has been so many great days to fly and I haven't missed many of them. I have an E550 and I absolutely love to fly this heli. I had one hard crash and it didn't do that much damage to the machine. I now know that this heli is pretty crash worthy.I don't know why Raptors aren't more popular. It's other peoples' loss not to experience it. Keep in touch about your Raptor experiences.

I just want to attest to the durability of these birds. I was out practicing autos(still learning) and put a few of them in pretty hard. No boom strikes, no damage, torque tube gears all held up. Stopped the rotor after each one and checked it out...took right back off. Another guy at the field put his 90 into the soy beans after misjudging an auto as well. Hit the ground and tipped over, blades folded up...NO damage. He brought it back to the pits, fueled back up and flew again.

finally getting mine back together...bad inverted landing.

Well not too bad. The worst part was the blades and engine. Engine went because I didn't get to it in time...went high RPM, blew the clutch and bell...sucked in frag and broke the con rod.

Why the crash...Align servo. Never will I use Align electronics again. Just no reliability.

Ended up getting some Hitec's...7940TH's.

I was very impressed with the durability of this bird. With an inverted crash I'd expect the head to be messed up...we'll it's G-force and is built like a tank. No frame damage, no lever damage, boom could be used but I'm not chancing it. With a bad boom strike, a little bent...no TT damage, bearings still good, tail good.

Very impressed. And not to mention how well it flips and rolls. Tracks very well.

Pics of one of my raptor SE the fbl version is still in the works. Will change out all the cyclic servos on this on to outrage servos they are laying at the customs as we speak
My other 90 SE has a OS 91 SX-H PS engines any one have any experience with this motor? I bought it used and are not to comfortable buying used nirto engines but hope i dont have bought the cat in the bag It looks very good but have not started it yet

Sorry to hear about your crashes but the ting with these helicopters is that they are built like a tank.

Default why not so popular?

well around here its about part

1 supply-yes there is the internet
2price of parts
3 help with set up locally

for me if parts prices were a lil less it would be all gravy because my r90 3d was awesome ,and yes they are built like tanks .

Some pictures from flying yesterday. Had some vibration issue in my Flybared machine. The reason is almost to stupid to mention but i forgot to take the protection tape of on the underside on one of the new radix blades Tok me a while to figure that out

But had a lot of fun with them both and the beastx is a blast. Now waiting for a new painted canopy for the FBL raptor.

what canopy are you using on that bird?

I thought that my bird was doing fine...till I went to fly last weekend. Chewed up some tail blades and found that my gyro is toast...or I've got setup issues, don't really know.

So, I'll be installing a 520 tomorrow and hopefully getting this thing flying...Can't wait.

Had a fantastic day to day with the FBL raptor. Upgraded the beastx to V2.0 and got two trips on it. Flys awesome it has now just got passed the VBAR i have in my 700E
Can now recommend this very highly in a R90
Had som problems with the tail holding i think due to vibration but after the upgrade it is holding like a charm.
But no excuse still have to chase the vibration Its just a small vib on the fin so i gues a bearing some where.

Hi There,

Unlike you all I don’t have a 90, currently fly a R 50 powered by an OS 55, and yes a rock solid little heli. I want to get my first 90 but am finding it hard to decide what to go for. Hear in SA on can get parts for the leading brands quite easily, Trex slightly cheaper....I’m seriously considering a R90 3D or Trex 700n or even a Hirobo 90. I also wish someone could tell us if TT are possibly releasing there new 90 soon (X90) and what the price would be.... Maybe I should just wait a while for this possible release....

Happy flying!

Hei TomR

Yes i now have them both up and flying pretty well. So you are going to the Blowout that sound a lot of fun. Are there any more norwegians going or are you going alone?

Sorry to hear about your FBL raptor are you still using vbar ?
