Default Third bearing ?

I would like it if some how some one could build a longer main shaft and a third bearing block below the main gear. Also a jig to drill holes in the frame. I would buy it. Just a thought.

I was working on my 700 tonight. The shaft sticks out from the bottom of the gear now. It could possible be done but it would be tight. But you look at Logo and they did it. Took a existing design and added a third bearing. If you could move the battery rails down slightly it would give more room.

I still think this would be a huge upgade to the Rave design.

Does it need one though? What would the advantage be? The only time I think a 3rd bearing helps is if it's part of the motor mount like on the logos. Then it is stopping any movement between pinion and main gear by physically holding them in place. That would be really difficult and heavy to achieve on the Rave.

The Rave already has pinion support. I guess it is not a nessesity because we have not seen any major problems. Are you wearing out the main shaft bearings prematurely ? But I can feel a small amount of lateral movement in the main shaft. The three bearing design would give the main shaft more support. Thats why a lot of manufactures use it. The Rave is a awesome Heli. I am not saying there is anything wrong just a optional upgrade.
