I can hear tail vibe.. I bet your tail fin is blurry? Cool stuff! Funny how all the date stamps blink periodically on these.

The left side of horizontal fin has been blurry since day 1.

Here is a video I took yesterday with the camera mounted on top of the canopy like Sylster's.
The only thing I did differently was to use a piece of masking tape over the top of it sticking it to the canopy so it has no wobble at all.
The results were very good, almost no vibrations. Woo Hoo!!

You're right-- the video quality is pretty good. I wonder what looks to be an 1880s era cannon doing around Redding California, but that looks cool too.

I'm not clear on the club rules where you are, but isn't that fence the "flight line" that you shouldn't cross? Flying into the pit tables area seems to be the kind of thing that plankers would have a heart attack over, but they just mugged it for your camera. What's at the end of the runway, it looks like a plywood jump ramp for weak plane takeoffs?

There was only 2 guys left, and I fly with them all the time, and I told them what I was doing as I was hovering back to the pits.. The grumpy ones had already gone home..LOL..
That pink stuff at the end of the runway is kind of an extension.
The field is built on an old land fill and has started to settle, so there is a bit of a downhill run at one end. Alot of the plankers come in so fast, they are always over shooting it. Instead of slowing down there landings they just added that stuff...
That cannon looking thing you saw ,is one of our old cable spool tables that finally fell apart...

Look at this store in Norway selling. A similar "gum pack"-version of the camera for 416$

I just got one of these with the 4GB Memory Card, but the video is pretty bad, I have all kinds of horizontal lines running through the vid. Was worth a shot, and I'll mess with it, but kind of bummed that the video is fritzy.

Is the video bad when on the helicopter? If so it's vibes/the way you mounted it. If it looks bad when you're just holding it and you're in good lighting, you might have gotten a bad one.

There are plenty of examples on this thread to see how good the video looks. Youtube definitely drops the quality a little bit, but I'm very impressed with the video quality of this $15 camera.

I think you are just a victim of the vibrations.
If you look at Sylster's mount idea, it works good. I did the same thing, but added a strip of tape over the top of the camera to the canopy so there was not wobble. Video cleared right up.
Another thing I did to help was add a couple of pieces of velcro to the underside of the canopy where it slides under the bottom tray to thicken it up. Kind of like a foam pad.. The secures the canopy pretty will so it does not wobble either.

Haven't got it on the Heli yet, this was just testing in the living room. :-( Think I just got a bad unit, and it's not worth trying to get fixed.

That sucks Jesusfreak. How about a link to the one you bought? I got mine from the same seller Sly did, bought a 2gb card from someone else and it works great. I know if you just search for them on ebay there's a lot of different sellers with similar cams so I guess certain ones might need to be avoioded.

Heres my first video.
There isnt any 3D in it because I was unsure how well the camera would stay on.
But I did get a nice view of my field

Make sure to watch it in HD, or click on the video to see a larger view.

3D flight is kinda worthless from an onboard camera unless you can do it very slow and steady. Checkout Bobby Watt's Orlando on board video. That is a good exception to the typical on board 3D video.

Fast piros and flips don't look like anything but blurr of sky/ground...

Default Software Drivers?

Has anyone located the windows drivers for this little camera? Supuposedly it can operate as a webcam w/ sound etc but my vista machine won't recognize anything more than the storage.

Thanks,

Michael
