Default 500 ESP head slop after rebuild?

I don't recall this being this way before I had the crash. If this slop is not acceptable what part(s) should I replace, the washout base, main rotor housing?

Not much you can do about that play between the washout base "forks" and the phasing pins. It's possible you could have spread the forks open a bit, but you would probably have bent the phasing pins before that. Most of the time, it will be loaded and not wobble around a noticable amount. When dropping collective and/or throttle will be when it unloads and the pins will move to the opposite side of the washout base. But that will not translate to a change in pitch or flybar cage movement. It's just annoying to have that much play in a rotating assy.

Now having too much play in the washout base mixing arms and the sf mixing arms is not so good and could cause noticable movements in pitch and flybar cage movement and binding against the flybar cage mounting screws. Having a good slop free fit there, even if it requires some shimming, is more important.

FWIW, my 450 has that kind of play and flies fine. It's going to get a dfc fbl conversion soon. Did it to my 500 and love it. But it's a pricey upgrade using high quality componants.
