Default eflite motor bearing

I was replacing bearings in an eflite blade 400 and the rear bearing came apart leaving the outer race in the housing. Anyone have any ideas how to remove this. there is nothing sticking out to remove. I can post pics if needed. Please help.

Try heat and a screwdriver to see if it will come out easy. If not, you can grind a slot in it to thin the wall, it will release the tension and then you can remove it.

send it to horizon,
or if you have to, you can try a drill bit just big enough to catch the rase. it should spin it enough to break whatever loctite is holding it in.
if the shaft has a grove wore in it, it wouldnt matter anyway. a new bearing will not make a difference.

I had this exact same problem. I used a big fat screw that I stole from a chair. The diameter of this screw was just a tad bit smaller than the inner diameter of the race. So I just stuck it in there and pried it out. It was still a PITA but it worked. Once I got the stock bearings out of there, changing the replacement bearings has been a breeze.

No joy but I think I can use a dental high speed drill and make a cut on each side and release it. Thanks for the ideas.

Only one cut is necessary. As soon as the wall of the bearing is cut through, the holding pressure is released and it will slip out. I have found it best to cut with a grinding wheel or carbide burr from the inside of the bearing to the outside of the bearing, just kissing the motor housing wall to make sure all pressure is released.

A dental drill the perfect tool. See pics. The smears on the motor are where I tried to use a large screw and those are the vice marks.

what`s the shaft look like? if there is a groove wore in the shaft, a new bearing will not make a difference.

The old bearings were good I just wanted to try the ceramic bearings.
The shaft is Ok since the bearings was in good shape.
The 400 I fly the most is starting to make a noise and I am rebuilding this motor with ceramic bearings for that heli.
Have you had any experience with the ceramic bearings.
I might order 10 for 60.00 if they are worth it.
Thanks for the replies.
