Tail servo... which one?
Guys,
I am looking at getting the GY401 gyro for my new TREX450. Can I run the S9650 mini or is the S9254 the way to go? Thanks, Greg |

The S9254 is too big for a T-Rex 450. The S9257 seems to have taken the place of the S9650 for many people, although the S9650 will happily run on 6V whereas the S9257 is not rated for 6V.

I have not tried the 9257 yet but the JR 3400G rocks for me! YES way better than a 9650....

Hey Greg!
I've read quite a bit that the JR3400G was the the best option but I was already choking on the $55 for the 9650, and I'm not at a point where I want to spend $75 for a servo....yet So far, I've done seven batteries with the 9650/2100t at 6v. The Tail feels Big....lots of authority. So far, I'm thrilled with the performance. After lots and lots of reading, it seems to me that the 9650 is pretty much the default servo for the 401 gyro these days too. |

Jay what's happening bro?
I see you are liking your TREX450 Being that it is Christmas time, it's not me spending the 75 bucks on a servo. I am getting another TREX450. My current setup has the gy240 and a S9650 on it and I am having minor problems with that setup. I can't seem to get the gain exactly where it needs to be. My tail oscillates back and forth at a pretty good clip. I have tried messing the gain and no luck. It seems to go away once in the air and I jam on the rudder back and forth a few times. It is bad enough that it almost caused a crash. The only thing I can think of is cranking up my tail responsiveness. I have very slow piros and I need to remember how to do this on my DX7 (haven't messed with that in a while). Greg |

I Am Using A 9257 On Mine, It Rocks.
But I Am Not Using A Step Down, Do You Think This Will Hurt The Servo.? |
