Default Is anyone flying their G20s anymore??

It's been forever since I've seen a post about someone flying a G20 or G30.
I'd love to see and read about people flying their G20s and G30s.

I fly mine. I am in a bit of a burn out right now but getting the itch to get flying again. I punched in the G30 2 weeks ago.

Very nice guys. I'd love to see more. Things have been too quiet in the Century forums recently and I'd love to see and read more about what people are doing with their G20s and G30s.

We need the rain here, but at the same time the rain turns our field into a stick muddy mess. It rains in the morning and the sun comes out in the afternoon. Unfortunately the field is a mess.
My gasser action is limited to my weed-eater.

Four Radikal G-20's and two Predator Gassers at our field. I will try to dig up some videos. One G-20 and a Predator where beating the air into submission last Sunday, and will probably be out doing so tomorrow.

I noticed you asked the same question over in the Century forum on RR. Most of us who used to hang out there no longer hang out there. Most of us Centurions stay over here on HF for the past few years.

I was all prepared to write up a glowing report on my G30 about 6 weeks ago. It was flying awesome. 2 gallons through it, smooth, and running pretty much the best it ever has. Then came out of a high, stall turn, straight down, levelled out, just ripping across the sky and it nosed right into the ground at full speed. DANG! What just happened?

Long story short....destroyed everything except the engine, tail servo and gyro.
As near as I can tell, my receiver battery came unplugged. This is my only bird that didn't have the lead heat shrinked.... So watch your leads guys, the consequences are $$$$$$$.

Sorry to hear of your crash helinutz. But that should not reflect on it rating a glowing report, as it seemed to be doing all you could ask of it very well. The crash was not the result of any failure of the heli mechanics or even the electronics. The crash was the result of the RX battery unplugging in flight. So do not feel shy about giving it the report you think it deserves.

That's right! The heli deserved the glowing report....

I was just too bummed out to write it....

Here is a video of my Predator Gasser with the smaller Zenoah G231 engine back in 2008. Since putting it into a swamp awhile ago where I had to higher a scooba diver to retrieve it, I have been thinking of replacing the motor with something more power like the HWC 29 or using my HWC 29 an a G-30 build.

Predator GS Dec 2008 (3 min 58 sec)

I will look up some of our G-20 flights.

Yes, I posted on both HF and RR. I just wanted to see what everyone's doing with their G20 and G30s... well gassers in general. Sorry to hear about your crash helinutz. Hope you get it or another gasser in the air soon.
Thank you for your posts.

yes sir I have a Radikal 20 with jr stuffin on it. a bh hanson 20, 13T/90T, 640s/ 100s on the tail. love the bird, she's a sweet ride. I fly with a bar and I really like the head, I fly it hard and fast but I don't try NEW things with it because I don't want to crash it.
I hope to get the torque tub and the 30 size clutch for it at the end of next month. she's smooth but the heavier 30 clutch should smooth out the engine a bit more, no problems with the stock clutch, just something I want to see for myself .
I would like to try some 660 size blades some day, do some high autos, but that will be a while

Thumbs up Still flying my G20's

Hi,
I'm still flying my G20's over in the UK, i'm not aware of many other flyer's of G20's in the UK.

I love mine to bit's, great machine and with the exception of two broken clutch shoes (std size) , they have been trouble free for over 3 years.https://www.helifreak.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

Welcome back to tall. Are you planning to attend the Mission and some other local events this summer?

First time in a long time, I flew everything I packed at least once.
Flew the 450 QX once, Trex 450 once, Trex 600 E/CF once, Trex 600 E/ESP twice, and Century Radical G20 Twice. All flew well. I'm going to try flying them again tomorrow. Will try to get some video of each, but the G20 in particular.

Happy 4th of July.
