Default Innova 550 loose tail grips: updated part

Just found this video on youtube:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9EmviFU4Ss[/ame]
I noticed the same problem with my KDS 550. Not really any chance of anything coming loose but I didn't like the grips not feeling totally secure.
Apparently it's just the thickness of the thrust bearings. KDS's has changed the spec and the latest tail grips come with slightly thicker thrust bearings and now there is no play in my tail. Much happier now!

Default KDS Loose Tail Grips

I have this kit as well as teh 600 and 700 ...i got a god deal on all three kits...and I am an addict for heli...I must say i had the same issue.. i tried to shim it but in actual fact the loose fit on mine is because the bearing is smaller than teh housing, i had teh exact same issue with the blade grips on teh heads...the tolerance they have in machining or bearing selection is sh!t !! but for teh price you pay you can afford to put up with it :-) all it means is the tail may vibrate and lateral force on teh sloppy grips mean teh housings will flogg out quicker.. just change teh tail rotor for a mikado tail rotor and yer set..I have to logo 600 se and most of teh parts are 100% compatible.. I bought about 1500 worth of parts with the three kits too so i factored in teh cheap parts ..and on teh 5-6 and 700 a lot of teh parts are still interchangeable so no fear of no parts between teh three kits..

hope that helps

cheers

Hey Rebel,

doyou have the upgrade? Do you only need to replace the bearings? Wonder where this info is published, to make sure, that I buy the correct new bearings to eliminate that one on my two Innovas...

Cheers,
Markus

I just asked my local KDS guy about it and he said that the current ones shipping from the KDS have the better fitting thrust bearings. I don't think they have a different number.....but they only come as part of the tail-grips, so I had to replace them. Only cost about $20 so I wasn't too worried....

The annoying thing is that looking at the packaging I don't think you can tell which is which?
