Kontronik Prog Cards 1 & 2 Acting Weird

Hey Guys,

I picked up the Kontronik program cards I & II a few months ago to program my PowerJive 120HV and am just now getting around to using them. I connected the cards as shown in Mr. Mel's VID and all the LED's on the cards light up for a second and then they turn off completely. Nothing else happens.

I connected a servo lead from the Battery input on card to the AR8000 Rx's THRO. Then I connected another servo lead from the ESC input on the card to the Master on the Kontronik PowerJive 120. Made sure all the polarities were correct.

Is there something I'm missing here? Maybe I connected the wires the wrong way? Or may I have gotten a couple of defective program cards? Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and discovered a resolution?

Did you plug in the drive battery pack?

I would first try to get it to work without the RX. Go from esc master to the left pins on he card and then power up esc with flight pack.

I powered everything up using my main 12s flight pack. I have no other way of applying the power as my PowerJive 120 battery cables are configured in parallel.

I'll give that a try. But doesn't have to be connected to the Rx so that it'll accept the inputs?

You only need the RX to set the TX throttle.

I wonder why it wouldn't turn on w/the Rx? Maybe I had to many things connected to it. Had the VBar FBL unit connected to the Rx.

I was able to make changes to most of the functions on the program cards to work but on Prog Card 1 the LED wouldn't light up next to the Start Up.... Not allowing to program in Smooth or Fast starup. Same thing on Prog Card 2. Wouldn't let me program the Smooth, I Gain or P Gain settings. What do those functions do anyway?

From p-c2 manual :

"Using ProgCARD II
The ProgCARD II must be connected to the Master port of the JIVE ESC. As soon as the ESC is connected to the ProgCARD, set parameters are read out and are being displayed by LEDs on the ProgCARD II.

Warning: The JIVE ESC must not be connected to the receiver when using the ProgCARDII!"

Some settings are not available in heli mode, they can only be accessed when Jive is in another mode (plane, car, boat), but I belive you should be able to adjust those...

I only used the cards for setting bec and lvc. Have not "experimented" with any other settings...
