First Piro
Hey guys,
The more I fly the more confident I am getting so today in the park I decided to make the heli spin around. I went up high and I did it 360 felt good. I started to shake again but I thought just chill and then I thought f it do it again so I kept doing it. I got even more brave then I did a 1080. I am loving helis. |

Congratulations! It's funny how doing new stuff on these helis makes you shake and get all nervous. Happens to me every time I am trying to learn something new. It's a great hobby.

Hey Euwan nice job. As you progress the shakes will go away.
You're right about holding off on the flips until you get better at nose in and flying circuits though. I just recently progressed to be able to do loops this Summer. Knowing how to hover nose in has saved me from many, many crashes. When I was starting to do flips and loops I had numerous failed attempts and ended up bailing out, had I not known nose in flying I would not have been able to recover. A sim will definitely get you closer to getting nose in, but real stick time is what really got me past that hump. |

I did my first piro yesterday - spurred on by this thread. I found it quite easy - yet I too had the 'shakes'. So far, all I have tried is the clockwise turn - at the extremes of a figure 8 - but am I right in thinking that an anticlockwise piro will require extra throttle? I know that ACW on a CB100 with electric motor on the tail seemed to need power, but I don't know what happens with a CP/belt-driven-tail heli. Any warnings - before the shakes hit me again?

Thanks - my pal has progressed to loops so I guess I have a bit of catching-up to do - bet you'll beat me to it too!
Have you 'done it' anticlockwise?

Not sure lol will try today. Dont be in a rush to catch up with your friend and I wont be trying a loop for a while although I am dying to lol. Just practice all orientations first so if you have a problem you know you can correct that is what I am doing will save a lot of money in the long wrong.
I have just bought a clone to start trying stuf |

Doing piro's are thrilling.
Agree on holding off loops and flips, I got cocky once and tried a backward flip ended pile driving into the fairway. Didn't have enough altitude and lacking sim time. Expensive lesson. Now I'm mastering nose in and fly outs Happy flying
