Default V3 gain issues (Solved!)

I just updated from v2 to v3 and went to the feild to test. I used the same gyro gain settings as I used with v2. On liftoff I got a vilont tail wag so I hit th and landed and reduced the gyro gain and tried again. No matter what my gain I could not find a spot that did not wag and also stopped well. The tail holds perfect when I give no tail or pitch input I mean PERFECT. Could I have too much mechanical gain? With v2 I had to locate my servo ball at 17mm to get rid of the tail kick on 4 point tick tocs and help with the tail whipping, but I could not get a gain wag even at 92 gain on my dx7. Now I get a vilont wag at 79 or 80. I etheir get bouncy stops or sloppy stops no mater the gain. Would moving the ball to 15mm help me here? My heading lock gain is at purple and my stop gain pot is 1 notch below center.

EDIT - I had the frequency set to "User Defined" for the tail servo

V3 work great. I just love it.

I fly 8 rounds today with 3 different 450 Pro with BeastX V3 of my rc group, two with DS520, one with 9257.
I have to move in the ball, its length is 11mm, now 6mm,same gyro gain, no more tail wag or tail kick. The tail is perfect if compare to V2, especially when you stop pyro.
Good work to BeastX software team.

You talk about issues with the stops... That isn't entirely a function of gain.

Set the gain to the point you have no wagging, then use dial number 3 to adjust the stopping behaviour. If the stops are sloppy with the gain set correctly then increase dial 3, if they are hard or bounce back, decrease it.

If you still can't sort it out then it may be that you need to try moving the ball but it sounds like you have it in the right spot. Is the servo correctly set up with pulse width and hz?
