All,
I’m pleased to announce a heli fun fly at the Fly-N-D-Ranch (maybe we could turn it into a annual event or more often if popular demand dictates).

This event will be held Friday October 7th through Sunday October 9th.

AMA is required but this is not a sanctioned event.

There are wet camping sites and very NICE laundry room/ shower facilities on site. RV’s are welcome, and there are plenty of places to pitch a tent if you would like to stay at the ranch. There are also a limited number cabins available for rent..
There is a $25 landing fee, and hamburgers / hot dogs will be served for lunch on Saturday. The grill will be fired up Saturday evening; it will be a cook your own steak theme, so everyone can cook what you bring, There will also be a LIVE BAND playing Saturday night!

What can I say about this place other than this place is great!! Flying will be done over a superb grass runway. We’re planning on 5 pilot stations but we can easily set up more if required. There is electricity at the flight line / pit area for charging, but it is very limited so generators are advised. Or there is plenty of electricity at the camping area, and we may be able to set up a charging station at the camping / ice house area. But a golf cart would be advised to commute back and forth if charging this way (golf carts are available at the ranch). The pit area is open so bring your awnings for shade.

We’re working on some give away goodies to be raffled off Saturday evening, but for now the pickings are slim, ill keep you guys posted as to a list of sponsors and prizes.

There is also a nice tree-house / play area for the kids, and a swimming pond so bring the whole crew, all are welcome! BTW guys if you have a four-wheeler, golf cart, or other ATV’s, you are welcome to bring them to the ranch. There are four wheeler trails to explore.

They updated their copyright notice to include 2014, so I'd guess they're still operating.

Yes unfortunately the ranch sold at the end of last summer. I would have bought it but I didn't have a spare 1.5 million dollars laying around at the time. The new owners from what I understand have no plans on operating as an RC field. So officially the ranch is now closed to the public.

It was a fun place to camp out, ride four wheelers, swim, and of course fly. The owner would hire live bands, and fireworks for fun flys. I'll miss that place, the kids used to love going there.

Thanks for reply. I noticed google earth shows all the rental cabins gone. Anyone know of any other place like this in Texas where folks can camp and have an RC field right there. It was pretty unique place, unlike a fun fly which is a specific date.

Does anyone know of any other place (being 2020 now) in Texas you can fly RC onsite at an RV campground? Or I can ask again in another 6 years

Apache Pass has a field next to an RV campground. They have a heli event every year as well as several events for all hobby disciplines, including the ice house fly in next weekend.
