Default Nano instead of mCPX BL?

Original question here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=755084

It's a shame mCPX BL is gone... Now, how close would Nano be to BL in terms of motor durability? One of the other birds I have is Blade Nano QX, and I have nothing but trouble with those motors - they just clog and die so badly, we just abandoned it completely, whereas BL just keeps going.

At this point, looks like 230s matches the requirements.

Side note - I wonder why your BL is named "Phoenix"? Not a reference to a bird that arises out of ashes (as in, Nth rebuild ), no?

Agree 100%. If you don't like the longevity of the Nano QX motors, stay far away from the Nano CPX/CPS. On the QX your motors are running probably less than 50% power most of the time. On the CP heli the motor is running closer to full power all the time and brushed motors just can't do that for long. You'll get around 50 flights per motor on average. This isn't because the motor is crappy, it's just the nature of brushed motors. The MMW motor is quite a bit better, but it still doesn't last much longer.

Actually yes, from the bird. LOL

When I got her, I didn't like the stock chargers and was using a lab grade power supply in Constant Current mode. Read "Not Balance Charging".

I had mentioned this in a charging thread, and also mentioned that I hadn't named her yet. One of the Freaks suggested Phoenix for when it burst into flames from an unbalanced battery.

And the name stuck.

I used to have a Nano named The Spawn.
That was the first CP heli I had owned.
I crashed her for 3 weeks, every day, until I managed to hover a full battery in the garage.
I was convinced she was Evil Incarnate, hence the name.
Funny thing, I gifted her to a fellow Freak about a month ago, and he loves her.

Go read "The Nano Stretch" thread for more info.

Default Go brushless

Agreed. The stock brushed motor on the nano cpx only lasts 30 flights or so. However the brushless lasts forever. I am at about flight 400 with the HH brushless upgrade and it is still going strong. The stock BL upgrade doesn't give much more power but it does last. Anyone considering a nano cpx should get the BL upgrade.....it will save them a lot of frustration, time, and money.
