Default Howdy from Texas

Long time lurker, but plan to be more active now that I can talk the same lingo

I'm in the DFW metro area (not real specific there as I live in one county and work in another)

I started the end of last year with several Blade micros and now mainly fly a 180CFX and a 450X using a DX9. Also using Phoenix 5.
I'm slowly (because of time constraints) building a Goblin 500 now and enjoying that process.

This forum has been a huge source of info to get me started and on my way to... hmm, don't really know where I'm headed in this hobby beside having fun, but I'll get there because of ya'lls help

Thanks for all the help so far and in the future,

texas112 aka Loren

Welcome!

I grew up not far south of Dallas and still have family living there. Hope the recent flooding hasn't affected you too bad.

Welcome

Good choice on the G500 you're going to love it. After flying my first I sold almost all of my old models and bought Goblins in each size. My 380's are by far my favorite because I can't fly them everyday out back after work.

If you haven't checked out ArchmageAU's thread on training I highly recommend it https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=531380
It has helped me immensely.

Thanks, my 450X is perfect for the out back after work flying, but a Goblin 380 might work well too. The flying club I'm joining has their flying site partly underwater from the recent floods so the 500 will probably get a few tuning flights out back soon, it's almost ready.

Very nice. Yeah a 450 class is a must I wouldn't get out and fly nearly enough if I didn't have 450's. That's why I have 3 my old trusty align 450 pro and two 380's. I'm joining a local club but I only get there once or twice a week at most and I need to fly everyday.

I joined the club mainly to fly my new 700.

Nice looking 700, that ought to be fun.

Yeah, I try to fly everyday if I can and normally it's my 450X, but today I only brought my 180CFX as a change of pace
