How have you managed to get away with bearings on your pitch rods?

Hi,

The first stage of the transmission Goblin is a belt. This has the great advantage that there are not temperature problems. The belt used by us are OK up to 130 °.

The belt combined with the rigidity of the motor support of the Goblin does not necessitate the 3 rd bearing on shaft motor.
The shaft of the motor must be at least 26 mm.

In the pictures there are many parts prototype, and many parts not anodized.
The standard production will be high quality.

The Goblin weighs with motor HK 4525-520 and Kontronik Jive 120HV, 3290 grams ready to fly.

The video of Tareq, in Alpine, we used 12S4500 60C, weight 760 +760 grams

Just preordered from helidirect and trying to plan components.

1. What options are available for motor mounting?
a. 30mm X 4mm is assumed as this is 4525 mounting
b. 25mm X 3mm available?
2. Gear Ratios.
a. Stock Gear Ratio ?
b. What is the method for changing? (Pinion/Gears?)
c. What options included in kit?
d. I would be shooting for 2000 RPM on 500 Kv so would prob need lower than stock gearing, most likely on VBar gov.
3. Servos
a. I understand 8717's are what is tested. Do these provide for links that are parallel to the main shaft. Different servos have different geometry. Wondering which brand, JR or Futaba provide the best Geometry?

Thank You. We really appreciate you creating a thread for questions. Very smart customer service.

Hi,

30x4 and 25x4 are available in standard support. it is easy to make changes if necessary. Attack picture.

Stock ratio is 10.7. (20 tooth pinion)

To change the ratio only just change the pinion.

In the kit there is a pinion of 20 teeth.

For max 2000 rpm, 500 kv, is ok pinion 20 tooth, is perfect pionion 19 teeth

With size 20 mm servos there are no geometry problems.

Awesome.
How are you able to run bearings on your main grips and a solid shaft to your swash?
Doesn't the movement in the head and the fact you are using solid pushrods cause bad loadings in the grips and bearings?

Here's what happens during the rocking of the head (pic attached)...whether or not it's a good thing to have the ball position change back and forth, that I don't know. I'm sure the dampeners are extremely stiff on the goblin, so this drawing is a bit exaggerated to say the least.

Nice drawing. The other axis might be problematic as it would be twisting whiile forcing the arm outward as an angle.
