Default best camera angle

I want to have a go at FPV with my old BeltCP, since it is the only heli I have that isn't on 2.4GHz !
I have a 500mw 2.4GHz video TX, and now I am choosing a camera. The little CCD video cameras come with a preset lens angle, and typical angles are 60deg, 90, 120, 150 and fisheye 170.
I am guessing that wider is better, but would like to here from those who have flown FPV what they think is the best angle, or does it depend more on flying style, like high and fast, or low and slow?

I'd probably start with the 90 degree lens.

I found the hardest part about FPV on a heli was figuring out if I had any airspeed or not. Keeping the disk level is almost a no braininer. Staying in a hover over one spot, or flying Forward, not so much.

A wide FOV will help with keeping the disk level, but subtle clues to motion might get hidden.

My best advice, figure out how to get it into a hover with direct observation, then determine a sight picture for the FPV goggles, Then try to transition to FPV piloting.

I would highly recommend all take off and landings done under direct observation.

I started with a wide angle lens like 2.8 and it's helpful for beginners because the more you see the better you can judge the movements. But I pefer now somthing closer to 3.6 which is still wide but doesn't have the fisheye view as much. I've tried 6.0 and 7.5 which is closer to the human eye but it is harder for me to fly a FPV heli (plane no problem) and I find myself a bit more lost since the view is so norrow.
