Default My 10S 550 set up

Just maidened my 550 with a 10s setup today, using 2 5s 4000 gens ace lipos, cg is perfect. This thing has super gobs of power, wasn't really giving it any hard collective since batteries are still in break in mode, but slight collective inputs were impressive. I was doing slow rainbows, but accelerating hard throughput and wow, I am going to enjoy the power. Tached it at 2250 which is my target hs, actually looking for 2300 but I'm sure the cold temps are affecting things overall.
Here are some pics and the set up:
Xera 4025 3y 560
13 tooth pinion
112 helical align main gear
(might be trying the Kde 700 115 main with a 15 t and 550 blades)
600 Sab fbl blades
600 boom with 95 edge tail blades
Jive 80 HV 85%tc at 2250 idle2
4000 mag 25c gens ace 5s

I have a feeling that once I start flogging this machine, the gens batts will suffer, time will tell... I might have to try some 65c TP's
Btw, flew 4 minutes not hard at all, batteries down to 57% so I think flight times will be plenty

Also forgot to mention running 600 size blades for now, 13 tooth was the biggest helical mod 1 pinion I could find at the moment, if I go with the Kde 700 115 main I can go up to a 15 tooth to get a hs of around 2500 gov'ed on the jive and then run the 550's..
Oh and the batteries fit perfectly under a fusuno canopy

Align suggest the head speed of 2500-2760 RPM for 550E. For that you need at least 18T pinion.
The whole idea of 550 is to use only one battery, otherwise better to get 600 or 700 size of heli.
Also stock Align's motor looks more powerful

Xera is underrated. gives more power than Align motor.

The whole point about a stretched 550 on HV setup with 600 blades, is that you have a VERY light 600 with extreme power. its almost 2 to 300 grams lighter than a standard 600

Those head speeds are fine with 520 -550 blades, not 600 which is what I am using.... And if you check out the Xera specs they are much higher than the 600mx1220kv, the Xera is a 560 , not sure why you'd be comparing the motors... I ran the 550 for about 250 flights running stock, great heli, but I am a gear head, so modifying perfectly fine equipment is all part of the fun... Plus, I have already have 2 600 size e helis
