Default Goblin 570 Pulley play

I bought a 570 used which I've been flying for some time. It started making a clicking noise today. When I remove the main pulley I can see where it's been rubbing on the main structure.

The original builder had 5 shims between the front tail pulley and pulley! I removed all but one. Now it's not jammed against the main structure but there's some play. How much play is OK?

I don't think it's always been jammed but it looks like the pulley moved up into the main structure.

How is it supposed to go together? Bert mentions some slop is OK in the video but not how much.

Thanks in advance.

I think somewhere in the 630/700 forum there is a thread that discusses this problem of the clicking noise and a mod that will fix it.

Hey guys, after looking at my 570 more the problem is this. The pully is touching the main structure. It appears to be designed to allow that to happen. So how do I stop it from happening?

Ok. Pictures will help us if you can take them and post them.

Will do.

Here's another piece of information. When I look at getting a new pulley, H0295-S, I see the part includes 2 spacers. The spacers are not installed on my Goblin nor are they shown in the manual.

Could the spacers be a 'fix' to resolve this problem: keep the pulley from floating into the main structure.

I may just buy a new pulley and install it with the spacers.

I'd say that you are certainly going down the correct path! Double check that shoulder bolt issue that I sent as well. It will save you some time down the road.

Update - the new pulley arrived. However it doesn't fit with even one of the included spacers. With one spacer the pulley is where it's supposed to be but I can quite get the nut in. I would imagine there's a new longer shaft.

Anybody experience this?
