Default A new lipo to look at

I think it would fit. Not too heavy for a 5300mah too! And 5C

Ddo you know how much they are? For me, if they aint say a tad bit higher or even lower than HK's pack then i'm quite content with HK & thier prices.

$95 or so from one site I saw. I like my current Turnigy's but they can only be charged up to 2C. I am looking for 5C's for next season.

Ok, can you explain to me all this 2c vs 5c charging rates, by 2c do you mean the charging amp which on the charger is the amp setting you select before you start charging the batt? Because my charger seems to auto select 5a once you select 5000mah & 3a for 3000mah & so on.

1C charge means battery capacity / 1000 x 1. Equals 5 amps in from charger.

5C charge means battery capacity / 1000 x 5. Equals 25 amps in from charger.

Net result = MUCH faster charging.

I currently charge my Turnigy's at 1C... 5A.. so it takes 1+ hour or so for a full charge.

5C would be 25A... and would take only 7-10 minutes for a full charge.

SO... with a capable charger (1000W iCharger) I can fly non-stop.. and as long as I want.

I can bring stored packs to the field and leave with only stored packs. No more charging the night before and storing full packs.. no more pressure to fly all the charged packs I have on hand... no more discharging full packs when I can't fly which only wastes cycles.

What about these?... they are 25C 5500mah, but thinner on all sides and longer? What will that do to your CG? Dimensions are 191mm x 45mm x 47mm

$94.60

What's the availability going to be like with these batteries? Are they going to be like Blue batteries? Rarely in stock and when the are, they get slurped up in minutes.

I chraged them all at 4-5c and after about 40 cycles they ALL have no power. I dont think this 5C is very good on the packs

Yeah that would suck. I am hoping the Nano-Tech (some go to 10C!) will not be damaged charging at a rate they say is ok.

Some how i don't trust the Nanos on that tip, since as great as the regular turnigy packs are i do think the specs are a bit exaggerated

What everyone seems to overlook in this quest for higher charge rates is that the higher the C charge rate, the larger the imbalance of the cells towards the end of the charge and hence longer time needed for balancing. Beyond a 3C charge rate (~15min charge time) there is no significant gain in charge time in my opinion.

If they are anything like the Blue Lipos, they will never be in stock! Turnigys are in stock way more often than the Blue Lipos are.

Slyster,, the difference in charging speeding from 2C to 5C is not a huge difference at all. As you keep jumping up in amperage, the efficiency drops. There is a big jump from 1C to 2C, but as you go higher up, the diff drops significantly!

At 5C (25A) on a 1000W iCharger.. what could I expect for a 6s5000mah pack?

I was kindof hoping for 10 min charges. (assuming lipo holds out at 5C)
