The video is on RC heli daily. It looks like it was put out by Gaui.

I am wondering if they are going to be releasing a new kit version? I would like to see how they mounted the batteries? Did they make new frames?

That's the vid.

Is that his heli? I guess he just straps the lipos on the regular frame. CG would be close to the same. Also more room with the formula canopy.

Here is how I did it smillar. There is the video too but not nearly as hard flying as the other guys. You can clearly hear though that the motor is not bogging at all. And I am heavy on the sticks. Also I am only running 2300 rpm in the video in that thread.

Check out the thread if you missed it.

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...ht=XB5-extreme

Here is a pic of how I mounted the batteries for now. You will see in the thread I have a few more ideas but havent got the time to start cutting the frame.

I guess it could be one of the white ones dyed black.

...and a 4035 series motor on an airframe THIS size? Holy mother of pearl!

Hmm.. It's an interesting idea. 12s.

I had a 6s 450 and really liked the power, extended flight time, and low temps. But part of the appeal of the X5 is only needing one pack. If you go to two packs then why not just get a 600...lol.

Wow...serious power in those vids...that is my idea of unboggable!

I wonder if the 4025-890 is even half way between the stock 910kv motor and those crazy birds...I'd be really happy with that level of power.

I know what u mean the formula canopies are starting to grow on me especially that blue one still don't like the red one that much.

It should fit just fine, but due to gearing you will need to be at 12S to use a 450-500kv motor. if your thinking of 12S I would suggest the HKIII 450KV, this will get you closer to proper stock gearing.

A good set-up IMO would be:
ICE2 80HV
HKIII 4035-450kv
2X 6S 1600-2000mah 35-45C packs. depending on weight. I would try to get 2 packs to weigh in around 550-650g total. I like a light machine, so I would shoot for around 1600-1800mah packs.
