Default 500se Motor ?

What are my motor choices for the 500se that will drop right in with no work other than the scorpion with the 5mm shaft, that thing is OOS everywhere. Going to be running 6s.

The Hyperion HP-HS4025-1100 is in stock at Ready Heli. It's the exact same motor as the Scorpion 4025-1100 with the 5mm shaft just with a different colour/logo. I run one in my 500 3d, it bolts right in and it's a real beast.

I use a Hacker A40 electric turbine in mine. Even the A50 fits with no mods for 8S/10S setup

Why not a 6mm shaft? My LHS didn't have the 5mm mod 0.7 pinions in stock so I converted to the mod 1. Am running 6mm 11T with the 106T main. Motor is Scorp HKII 4025.

5mm is preferred as it gives more pinion options.

Bullfrog, is that with a a 13tooth pinion? How hot does your motor get? I'm running on 6s 5000mah with mod 7 gearing and my motor gets very hot

I have both the Hacker and the 1100 Scorp and they are both great motors IMO I am running 1 14t with the SE and it comes down warm at the most.

Sorry for the late reply andysadd, I have not been on helifreak for a few days.
I run a 15 tooth Mod 0.7 @ 70% throttle curve (gives me around 2100/2200rpm). Motor runs warm to hot depending on how I fly it, but i can still touch it with my finger even after a hard flight.

Hi. I'm thinking of making the leap to a Logo 500SE from 450 size newbie training & coincidentally wondering the same question. Someone pointed me to this motor for 6S: KDE 600 XF-1175. Any comments or experience?
