I was just out flying mine this morning.
I dialed back to +10/-10. Neu 1512 (1400kv) and 10s A123 cells.
Very sweet sports combo for those looking for decent sport perfomance at a budget price.

I've data logged the old Zpower Z30 (red) and compared it to a 600XL. The old Z30 holds RPM on 6S better than the 600XL. I've yet to datalog the new Z30, should have that info within the next week. You need a logo 14 16T pinion to run this motor on 6S.

This is very preliminary data, I need to fly both back to back to decide if I'm doing any compensating or collectuve management which can effect inflight data graphs.

Gary goodrum, the us distributor of Z-power motors has said the z30 is better suited for logo 10 size helis (500-550 blade size).

Looks like the performance of the three best 6S motors on the market are very similar, so it's up to your own opinion on what you want. Here's the overall opinions I'm reading the most:

Align 600XL - best bang for the buck (NEU motors are 2x - 3x more expensive). With the new recall and updated shafts, hopefully the durability problems are solved. The motor generates great power with the 11T helical pinion, but the 12T helical causes an overheating issue with improper collective control and high pitch. Appears to be slightly less powerful than the NEU 1515/2.5D/F. Motor is compatibe with 6S only.

NEU 1512/1.5Y/F - higher kv rating (1900kV) requires usage of a governor to properly control headspeed with 12T helical. 11T helical should provide around 2300 rpm headspeed at 100% throttle, so this may be the best option. Also have heard great reviews of performance from the motor and is lighter than the other three motors. Due to the lighter weight and higher efficiency, this motors should provide the longest flight times at a slight cost of performance.

NEU 1515/2.5D/F - best overall power for a 6S setup. Larger motor produces higher torque/cooler motor than the NEU 1512/1.5Y and Align 600XL at a cost of higher amperage usage and slightly shorter flight times (although it seems to be very similar to the 600XL, so possibly more efficient?). This is the motor I am running and I am very happy with it. Running the 12T helical at +/- 14* pitch (2270 rpm at 100% throttle) with my inferior collective control does not cause any overheating or bogging issues. Of course, performance comes at a price and it is the most expensive (almost $300...ouch).

So, it's up to your own discretion on how much money you want to spend and whether your looking for all out power on 6S or prefer longer flight times out in the field. With my flying style, I'm getting 6 minutes with the 1515/2.5D/F and putting back 3800-4000 mAh consistently back into the TP 5000-6SX packs.

I'm just telling you what results I'm getting, there's no reason not to put a Z30 in the T-Rex 600, it has the power capability and the continuous current ratings required to satisfy the demands of a 6S T-Rex 600. It may suit a 500-550 sized heli just fine but I've seen it in heli's with 620 sized blades and it does just fine.

Hi all,

Here is my setup:

Custom Heli Parts (custom for hitec servos) 2mm frame
Z50A-800 (zpower) motor with 14T pinon
CC 85 HV ESC
Hitec 6975HB servos for cyclic
GY611 gyro
600mm V blades
2x 5S1P 3700mah Flightpower EVO packs

I have setup the CC gov for 75% which is just under 2100rpm (around 2090rpm) hovering. I had first tried with the 13t mikado pinion however the 14t works better and allows the governor to work with more room. packs after 5:30 (and I only put in around 2500mah leave's 500mah) are barely warm and the motor is around 110f. The difference between stock is not even comparable, the power is always there. I will have someone test full out 3D tommorow. I'll hopefully have a video too.

I just picked up another set of FP EVO NF 5S1P 3700mah packs for my 10s Trex 600 from my LHS and to my suprise they are now 22C instead of 20C.

Hi all,

I've started to test other 10s setup packs. As some know the packs the FP uses the cells are made by a company called Enerland. They have a plant in Korea. FP then assembles the packs by matching cells. Just a FYI cells used by Enerland are used in packs by Polyquest/PolyRC/Hyperion/FP/EnerMax are just some of them. Not all packs from each manufactor uses enerland cells just a FYI.

The pack I received had the Polyquest label on it with the same part # of Enerland's website. They were the same weight, and near the same dia (same length, width, just a little thicker, due to pack build??) as the FP 3700 pack.

The performance vs my other FP 3700mah packs is the same. The datalogger shows this too.

Also what I've noticed is that each of the 2 5s polyquest (enerland) packs are the same voltage after a flight, vs the fp packs which one is always higher than the other one (the last FP packs I purchased are better with this, but the enerland packs are still better). Also the cells in the polyquest packs are always within .005-.010v with each other (vs the other pack). The Enerland packs come with polyquest/hyperion type balancing taps. I just made a convertor cable to fp, its very easy to due.

The packs were in balance when I received them. I will be testing lastest new 25c 3700mah packs from enerland hopefully by next week.

Below you'll see pics of the battery and FDR graphs. Yes I did go over a little on the one that shows 3175 . The pack actually took back 3101mah so around 84%.

Also the price I paid for the packs I got (5s 20c 3700mah) were $280 for both with shipping. The latest 5s 25c 3700mah will be less. Also the 25c packs are not supposed to be any heavier either (or much to notice). I will post more when I receive them.

Also this post is not to knock off anything from FP. They have a good product. I posting just to inform everyone. Please dont turn this into a debate.
