Get a hold of AZHELIGUY. See the other thread on this. He has an awesome jig to drill the holes accurately and also provides everything you need. You just need a drill bit, a small file and a little patience.

Making a 600ESP 3rd bearing block
Not sure if this has been done or not.... but it works..

I installed a 3rd bearing block into my ESP problem was is that it is a match for the upper blocks 19mm X 10mm X 5mm, the lower bearing being 17mm X 9mm X 5mm posed a problem. being that it was not going to fit correctly.

simple solution was to dismantle the 19 X 10 X 5 bearing take the outer casing and machine the ball bearing track down till it slid over the 17 X 9 X 5 bearing as a spacer sleeve.

just pop it into the block mount and bingo all good in the world!!

I got the Quick UK block from readyheli.com and hand-drilled the four holes with a pin vise, working up from a tiny pilot bit to 7/64". Measured about four times, drilled once. Worked out well, took about two hours. The shaft dropped straight in.

With the jig from AZHeliGuy you don't need to measure anything... took me about a half hour. The center part is the toughest. The jig gets you there about 90% of the way and then a small file and some fiddling gets you home.



The kit from AZHeliGuy comes with the jig, and the four longer bolts. You remove the four bolts from the existing bearing blocks and bolt the jig in place. Now you have the exact location of the bottom bearing block holes, including the center one. Drill away and remove jig. Repeat for other side. Now, use a small round file and file away a bit on the center part and install the 3rd bearing block (he gives you this as well as the bearing and an extra bearing that can be used for the top two blocks as a spare). Insert the longer main shaft before you tighten all the bolts. Once you have it all lined up, tighten down all the bolts and don't forget the loctite.

I have about 90 flights now on my 12s with the 3rd bearing block installed. I have zero slop on the head. Also, after I land, I make it a point to go to zero pitch while the blades have some energy and just listen to make sure I don't hear any squeaking from the bearings... so far so good! Big THUMBS UP to Al (AZHELIGUY) for coming up with this clever and efficient solution.

The QuickUK block looks good, but it is missing the center standoff, so it relies solely on the bolts to keep its alignment... me thinks the center standoff is a better solution.

I swapped my stock frame with a 2mm Custom Heli Parts frame. The frame is now rocking solid, absolutly no flex at all! It fits larger motors and the holes for a third bearing block are pre-drilled. I use a third bearing block from Quick UK as mentioned in the previous replies.

If you don't have the tools and find it worth the money I can highly recommend it.
