Default For learning to fly MCPX, is the sim MCPX the best model to use?

I have Phoenix 4.0 on the way. I'm learing to fly an MCPX, actually two, with a DX6i. Both with long tail booms, one with a C05 motor and 550 mhA battery.

I'm wondering if I should start with a larger slower model.

Thanks.

The model sucks in the sim, it's far more stable than the real one but it crashes in the sim easier falls out of the sky too easy. Avoid the model it just sucks.

I had a friend over last weekend I put him on Phoenix for 2 hours flying the blade 450 3d. He could hover my MCPX and even not lose it when it went to nose in over his head he could bring it back in control. His first try ever flying. I also learnt on the blade 450 3d model it's a great model that requires loads of adjustments to just hover so you learn fast.

When you practice hovering in sim let the heli drift and see where it drifts the do tiny taps to adjust counter don't hold the thumbs on the sticks. Hood thumbs on the sticks when flying the real heli though this is great for learning the muscle memory.
