Default Gy280 CC15 Throttle issue

Hi guys.

I'm going through the setup of the Talon 15 and Gy280 here.
I seem to have an issue with the FBL throttle channel response.

Problem is, it reads a steady zero.

The talon 15 has been set correctly, and the 1101 spools up just fine.
The 280 simply does not seem to be reading the throttle channel correctly.

I have tried other receiver modes, and was able to get a response on THR channel this way, but i'm not gonna try using cyclic as a throttle for reals.

With the standard Rx mode, everything seems fine except the THR channel...just sits at zero, despite the motor spooling up without incident..

I may just go with it for now, but i can't help but think about setting failsafe....which may not be safe if it fails

Anyone got an idea of what's going on here?

I have the heli setup now, but still can not get the throttle channel to move in the vstabi program.

This results in the gyro autoleveling during attempted flights just as the beastx or as3x does during non flight mode.

Using a dx7s... seems the gy280 and talon 15 is a no go so far..

Maybe this will help...

Ping IntegrityHndywrk on RCGroups or post your question in the V120D02s thread in the micro heli section. He is pretty active and I believe he runs the combo.

Over here try bmc76. He ran it on his 250:

Thanks Todd

However, I appear to have fixed it myself via some config editing.

I found this page http://www.66pacific.com/vbar_extra_channel.aspx
and it got me thinking..it's only 144 lines of back and fourth tweaking until i figure it out...right?

Anyway for those who have a similar issue down the line...
Here it is

First save the config with vstabi
Now open the file with notepad++ or similar

Line 75 <VALUE Register="214" Value="0"/>
Change it to the same value as the collective channel and save.

Now just load up the saved cfg and verify the results..

That's pretty interesting! I haven't heard of others doing that and you'd think they would mention it. Puzzling but glad you've moved past it. Keep posting please - I haven't finished my v120 GY280 setup yet. Cyclic range and flip rate are still an issue. I've been distracted with these 130 motor mods and my PITA 180 #2 that refuses to fly like my 180 #1. I need to finish my v120!

"Keep posting please"

Yeah, i believe it's only a matter of time now.

Took it for a hover check and it seems ok thus far ( it flies now)

Dialing in cyclic pitch 8' seems a bit tenuous since the only measuring gauge i have is the RClogger 2 which is a bit heavy for the blades..I threw it on the blade grip bolt and did all i could from there.

The xtreme swash geometry might be a bit off due to a lack of calipers to measure accurately.

I read a thread posted by fabian and wsntme quoting a few numbers relating to the MH swash geometry as a reference.

I dialed those in found that while holding the elevator and aileron full left~aft, then moving the collective full down, the aileron servo would move to the endpoint just before the full negative collective stick, then move back up slightly at full collective..

I played with the distance/angle numbers a bit and now the aileron servo stops at full negative collective as i expect..

All guess work so far, now I've just gotta play around with the cyclic rate/agility numbers and get it feeling smooth in flight..

At this stage, it's almost like the 180cfx with stock settings
running at 100% rates and no expo, which was just too fkn crazy for me

So far, there's no oscillations in cyclic, no tail wag,but it's just really touchy as per default 180cfx.... She's almost there

How about flip rate? Can it do a decent regular or half piro flip? I think that is dependent on the 8 degree setting.

I've still gotta play around with the cyclic gains a bit, 17 on cyclic and 14 on the tail so far, still tweaking there...

For now it flies close to the same as my 180cfx if you dialed cyclic parameter 4 to 30 and added 20~30% expo at 100% dr. just much lighter.

piro flips, ah i've yet to perfect them on the sim, i figure as long and i dont hit full cyclic+collective it should be ok given the servo geometry dealio.

The fbl had to be mounted with a slight 'nose down' orientation for piros to come out flat and level, or so it seemed.

Few issues, but just lovin it so far
