Let us know what you find, I DO like hobbycity and have had no probs with them, infact I usually get my orders in 3-6 days from them. I am currently using Zippy 5000mah for 60 bucks each from them.

Default 600mm Blades

We got off talking about batts, but since this thread is about blades here is my question:

I'm still using the stock 520mm woodies. I have 550mm comosite and woodies but never tried them yet, its flying well now. So, its like if its not broke dont fix it.

But I do have a pair of align 600mm laying around that was for the swift, I held them up to the ES600 and it looks like they will fit close to the tail though.

Reason I'm asking is I was on a site either ka-planes or rcsupersales and they listed 600mm blades as 'parts' for the es600. After all why is it called ES600 if it cant fly 600mm blades?

Thougts/experiences....

The e-smart can run run 600mm blades if you have the boom(same part # but with an "a" designation), The old plastic kits have shorter booms. The thing with running 600 mm blades is that you have to turn down your HS to 1800-2000 RPM. I also noticed that you tend to draw more amps out of the batts running a set of 600 mm's. Also I noticed that the gyro/servo system has a harder time keeping the tail locked in during fbf and maneuvers like tail slides. As light as my e-smart is right now, I prefer the flight characteristics with a set of 550's.

lock, mine does the same thing but I'm damned if I know why.belt tension is if anything on the tight side so its not the belt whipping up,Ithought about removing some of the plastic but am afraid of making it weak.It does not appear to be harming the belt though

Yeah my belt was wearing......I fixed it by putting the metal tail box on.

Still prefers on side, but its not wearing like it was.

on the subject of blades,I tried a set of hurricane 550 woodies on mine and they work well (or at least they did untill I touched the tips on the ground and scuffed them) they are cheap as well

are you talking about these for $11.92?
http://www.ka-planes.com/inc/sdetail/2323

I like the 520mm's from ESky, just because they're only $15
http://www.ka-planes.com/inc/sdetail/12712

the E_Sky 550's are only $5, But I also like these ones from helidirect, I bought the 600mm's to use for AP but since I started using the longer metal tail blades grips and hub, I can't run the 600's anymore because the tail and main blades come dangerously close to each other now, it wasn't so bad with the stock tail blade grips.

heres the 550mm version of my 600's, they're only $19
